Welcome to my cyber world and thank you for visiting my blog. To me, the hardest thing is to talk about myself, for the simple reason that even I, myself, could not know yet, who I am. In Bhullay Shah’s words, “کیہہ جاناں میں کون؟”. So I am still in search of myself, like googling my own self, or may be “in search unsearchable”, in Rumi’s words.
A little about me
Briefly speaking, I am Durr-e-shahwar Bukhari from Kashmir – the heaven on earth – the land of mighty Himalayas, and Karakoram, the lofty snow-capped peaks, noisy waterfalls and streams, thick forests, lush green valleys, mirroring lakes, and high mountain passes.
Although I did my masters in psychology, yet I find myself completely helpless in understanding the psyche of the two most difficult to manage but at the same time, much adorable and precious little beings, who call me ‘mama’.
Being a writer has been my passion since teenage. I have been maintaining diaries to record my rambling thoughts about the life, society, human behaviors, and everything around me, in a well-articulated manner and believe me, venting out my random, and at times disturbing thoughts this way, always gave me peace of mind. However, the idea of creating my own blog to share my perceptions and understanding of the life and associated different things with a broad spectrum of audience just recently bumped up in my mind – hence this blog.
I like to read, teach, and counsel. As a mental health therapist, I obviously, have to be a good listener. Working on people’s cognitive distortions has unfolded to me lots of facts about life that generally people from a suffocated society like ours, tend not to talk about. Such revelations also motivated me to start writing blogs and sharing my experience with others.
About blog
You will find it a kind of personal developmental blog. I like writing more on societal dilemmas, with a blend of psychological mindfulness that may help in self-realization. You will find my essays and short notes helpful in pointing out unnecessary norms of the society that are a big hurdle in keeping the moral values intact and in achieving the peace of mind. You will also find out a mash up of evolving political standpoints in the discussions of national and international politics.
Happy reading, and please do not forget to subscribe to my blog to see regular updates.
