Wo-men Dilemma 1

once again .. one more time … but this time people are barefaced with the concerns which are so ambiguous,so obscure that it has become nothing else then a dilemma. the optics are very much at the crossroad of an oppressed and an oppressor, but the most bizarre and quirky phenomenon about this dilemma is “the oppressed considers the blue devils as destiny or his default right to be under oppression”.

last year “Aurat March” came out of the blue. no one was expecting the nature of slogans which suddenly took advertence. Its slogans on placards gave a severe blow not only to the face of chauvinism but to the vast population of the “aurat” herself, who considers the women fighting for her rights as “fahasha”. No one ever read the manifestos, neither men nor women in general, that aurat march gave in 2018, 2019 and 2020. what concerned them is the ‘sensual’ and ‘irreligious’ nature of few slogans. And the story ends ….. everything except those few, faded out.

This year people became proactive; men started guiding women to choose right words for their slogans, women started advising each other to remain in her limits and do not use this sarcastic language otherwise they are harming the reputation of those blue-ribboned “Sabir” and (self-proclaimed) righteous women. Hence the media , TV talk shows, social networking websites are flooded with “aurat nama” as if nothing else is more important in this country then a woman.

let me remind you, few years back a surge came all the way from west with a hashtag of #MeToo, with a large variety of related local or international names, is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault. This movement was quite sophisticated as it was layered in the the bourgeoise covering. Didn’t get much attention. but when it was converted into the “Mera Jism MEri Merzi” which is in fact covering a wide range of issues besides sexual assault like domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape, marital rape, child abuse, acid attack, right to choose, right to have a say, right to say ‘no’. But people get infuriated, for them the optics, the aesthetics of this slogan is unbearable, far more obscene than the acts themselves. and the essence of the slogan turned into “women actually want to be naked , want to wear vulgar dress, and want to be a free bird without caring for anything else”. This is what majority of population is perceiving right now or being forced to perceive it like that. Dress code is the main focal point for all the attention. Nothing else matters.

This actually hurts the ego of those who feel insecurity, because the oppressors always proud to have at least one oppressed. what if they have to give up??.

The sense of losing the source of gratification would and does drive everyone nuts.

i wont talk about men because its pretty obvious we live in patriarchal society, what to expect. i want to talk about women who think men have a right to scold me, beat me, abuse me. she just has to accept and live with it as her ultimate fate. i want to talk about those “Sabra” women who think reward will be in afterlife (even though not as appealing as men is promised to). A women who lives in front of my home, used to be beaten up twice a weak mostly seen with bandages, living a contended life. Those women, who on behalf of men, think that such kinda marches are harmful to the honor, glory and reputation of a man who is a real gentleman. They are even denying the gender discrimination reports being published time and again.

Pakistan ranked 151 out of 153 countries on the Global Gender Gap Index Report 2020 index, published by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Tuesday, only managing to surpass Iraq and Yemen.

A few days ago i had a discussion with my professor in university. she was of the opinion that all this is happening because women is not satisfied being a women. she is not happy with her gender. she wants to become like man. This is her Cognitive Distortion. If she quits this struggle of becoming a man there will be no concept of aurat march. Technically she was right but why she is not happy and contended with her gender is the point of actual debate. why a women would like to be happy in subjugation?? why she would prefer to be ‘for granted’? what so fascinating in sitting home and doing all the household chores 24/hours a day? what extra privileges she enjoys being a women except standing in que and waiting for a sweet echo of “ladies first” ?? what so enchanting leaving all the inheritance rights and their own shares and endowing all to brothers.?? what is so adorable in portraying women as a “delicate” commodity?? why a women would not like to have power sharing?? With what protocols women would love to be conformers?? why she should suppress her adrenaline rush???

These are not the sole reasons why she is not happy with her gender. Still there is a lot more to say a lot more to write..beyond the scope of this blog…

let me reiterate on this women’s day that concept of feminism is not to develop hatred towards men but its sole purpose is to spread awareness for the rights of women which a woman owes by her religion and by the laws of human rights. I personally met the best man , the best brothers and the best father in my life so i never developed misandry despite knowing on daily basis the molestation of women’s rights just because of her gender. There is no point of equity debate on the basis of anatomical and physical power, it would be pretty illogical but ‘the equality to have a right to say either yes or no’. when i hear women saying that those who are coming out in Aurat marches could not even take a step outside without a man how can they want to have independence. They should keep this in mind that this is once again not the point of debate because we as a human are interdependent , “Even a HERO without HER is a Zero”. The idea is so simple “consider women not as a commodity but a gender without any biases and endowing all the rights which she has already been endowed by her religion. Don’t complicate …. don’t just ignore all the women’s rights behind the facade of the slogans making them obscene. The words for the slogans are clearly depicting the exact nature of the severity a women is facing. “Using a word ‘Jism’ is not as Obscene as exploiting a jism”.

To all those women here is my humble request!

let just not keep this movement die its own death, support it.. you probably are enjoying every kind of right but there are hundred of others who are not enjoying even basic human rights , and are still waiting for a miracle to happen to come out of their chaotic lives……don’t help those who want to make this movement another meme…. support each other ..

Happy reading
